Need Holiday Dog Walking, Cat Visits or Pet Sitting?
At Green Paws Chicago, we walk dogs, care for cats and do overnight in-home sitting every day of the year, including holidays! Over the major holidays our memberships work a little differently and we do charge a little extra for holiday services, so please read on to understand how things work.

Memorial Day

Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
We all enjoy traveling over the holidays — and for that reason we are often sold out weeks or months in advance of holiday weekends. Please make your holiday overnight reservations as far in advance as you can. Members can reserve overnights any time and CareOnCall clients can reserve up to 30 days in advance. If you have to cancel your trip, please let us know as soon as possible, as holiday overnights must be cancelled 2 weeks in advance to avoid being charged.
For overnight care on holidays or holiday weekends, there is a $20.00/night additional charge. If the holiday creates a 3-day or 4-day weekend (such as Memorial Day weekend or Thanksgiving weekend), the charge applies for each night of the holiday weekend.
We are happy to provide care for your furry friends on holidays! While walks on the major holidays listed above are not included in your membership — the charge for those days is already subtracted from the monthly cost of your membership! You just have to ask and we will add a holiday walk to your schedule.
We will send you an e-mail a few weeks in advance of each holiday to remind you. If we don’t hear back from you or if you don’t specifically reserve a holiday walk, any walk on your regular schedule that falls on a holiday will be cancelled. For example, if your membership includes Thursdays we will not come on Thanksgiving Day unless you let us know that we are still needed.
Members get a 10% discount on added walks, including walks on holidays. For example a standard 25-minute walk on a holiday is normally $28.00, but with your member discount you will only pay $25.20.
Even if you’re not a member, we’re available to walk your dog or sit for your cat on holidays. We do have a limited number of holiday appointments, so make sure you reserve your spot in advance.
There is a $10.00 per visit additional charge for walks and visits on holidays.
